The Graduate Trainee will work closely with senior leadership to drive the business forward into the future.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Production Graduate Trainee your key responsibility areas are:
-Learning and gaining hands-on experience in all areas of production, including manufacturing processes, machine operation, and quality control.
-Assisting with the planning of production schedules for volumes and plant capacities to ensure that total production is in dispatch by due time.
-Monitoring and maintaining quality control standards to ensure all products meet specifications.
-Troubleshooting and resolving production issues and machine malfunctions as they arise.
-Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to improve production processes and efficiencies.
-Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
-Deploying the correct number of employees per shift.
-Monitoring production of products through period evaluations of the output in terms of production plans and checklists to ensure quality and quantity specifications are achieved.
-Monitoring of plant performance and identification of gaps and implementation of corrective action to attain target throughput.
-Monitoring the availability of sufficient raw materials and labour for the plant.
-Implementing production plan shared by the Unit Manager to meet demand requirements.
-Maintaining optimal machinery function through adherence to maintenance plan, in liaison with Unit Manager.
-Preparing and submitting production reports and projections to the Unit Manager.
-Identifies machinery faults and liaises with Unit Manager on plan for corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.
-Tracks maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment and ensures compliance to the schedules.
-Maintains and updates plant performance records and operational procedures.
-Enforces adherence to set SHE standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, you will require the following credentials:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering/Food Science or any relevant degree.
Commercial and business acumen.
