JOB ADVERT: PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP AND ADVOCACY INTERN

The Zimbabwe Network of Early Childhood Development Actors (ZINECDA) is the lead organization for an education policy advocacy project, jointly implemented by the NECDOL- Lesotho and ECD Coalition Malawi. The aforementioned organizations are national early childhood development networks and platforms endeavouring for the promotion of excellence and collaboration in promoting access to quality ECD, by influencing policy and practice through advocacy, strengthened partnership and sharing of experience and knowledge. The organisations seek to ensure efficient and effective project implementation within the global, regional and national level to promote transparency and accountability in early childhood development policy development, implementation and oversight. The project seeks the services of a Program Membership and Advocacy Intern The following are the requirements for the post:-

Key Responsibilities

Child development from conception to 3 years

Assist in the identification and implementation of programs that support relevant and appropriate child development and growth in families, communities and institutions

Assist in the development of early childhood stimulation programs, courses, facilities, materials and equipment

Assist in the development of parental programs to support and facilitate child growth and development in families, communities and ECD centres

Assist in the development of inclusive education and referral systems for children with special needs’ learning, growth and development

Assist in the monitoring of health assessments for children and provide appropriate strategies for growth and survival of children. 

Membership Growth and Management

Assist in the development of membership growth strategies for maintaining agreed subscribed membership levels at regional, provincial and district levels.

Assist in the development and strengthening of membership capacities for horizontal and vertical participation in ECD policy advocacy and networking 

Assist in the strengthening of participation of membership in ECD policy advocacy and networking processes horizontally and vertically

Assist in the development of learning strategies for membership and stakeholders

Assist in the development of communication strategies with the Membership and Advocacy Officer and the Media and Communication Officer

Leading, planning, coordination and reporting of membership programs

Assist in the identification of ideas and development of proposals for the membership and child development programs

Assist production of narrative monthly, quarter and annual reports on responsible program areas

Document ECD membership best practices in Zimbabwe 

Represent the organisation as delegated

Essential skills and experience

Communication, facilitation, report writing, computer literacy, social media articulation, 

Qualifications: First degree in ECD education, development studies, social sciences or related graduate studies

Experience: Experience of NGO and ECD work will be greatly appreciated

Positions location: Harare. Zimbabwe

Contract duration: 6 months with possibility of renewal
