Program Coordinator - Urban Justice (UJ) Project (Harare Program Area)


Reporting to the Program Area Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall oversight of the Urban Justice project. Coordinate partners in the protection and expansion of civic space working with young women and men whose collective action, influence and access to justice have been affected during COVID-19


Accountabilities:


Assessment, Program Design and Planning


In association with the relevant Thematic Lead, the UJ Program Coordinator ensures that sound plans and budgets are developed and monitoring mechanisms put in place for the UJ project.

Ensure the PAM/Thematic Lead, is kept informed about progress on assessment, project plan, project plans and implementation, progress reports, and other significant developments.

Provide technical assistance on the development of all project implementation plans and budgets within the framework of donor guidelines.

The UJ Coordinator ensures that Child Protection standards are adhered to by Plan staff and partners

The UJ Coordinator is responsible to ensure that all Plan interventions have a clear focus on girls, boys and adolescents, with adequate situational analysis and solutions that promote children's access to their basic rights, ensuring child participation and non-discrimination

Project Management and Implementation


Provides technical support to all teams implementing the Urban Justice project on youth programming and movement building

Keeps track in collaboration with MERL team on the outcomes and indicators, milestones and targets and consolidates the progress of the quarterly and annual reports.

Ensures that corporate reports are completed in SAP and other systems.

Designs high quality concept notes and proposals for resource mobilization.

Program Learning and Communication


Identify learning and training opportunities for staff and partners and work as a mentor to ensure high quality outcomes

Ensure that effective use is made of learning from program monitoring and evaluation to strengthen program delivery and inform wider practice in relation to Plan International Zimbabwe work.

Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.


Knowledge :


A degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies or related discipline

A relevant post graduate qualification desirable

A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience at a similar level preferably in an NGO environment
