job Description

Organisation: ROKPA Support Network (RSN) is a registered Welfare Trust guided by the principles of compassion and empathy inservingthose in greatest need.

Duty Station: Greater Harare and Chitungwiza, based in either Manyame Park or Mabelreign areas
Duration: 1–2 months, part-time.

Start date: ASAP
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to support our work by assessing our current beneficiaries to determine their continued need for assistance by carrying out home visits.She or he or she will engage with beneficiaries in a respectful, empathetic and ethically acceptable manner

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To conduct home visits in line with R SN’s vision and child protection policy.
2. Design a realistic and efficient schedule for conducting the home visits.
3. Complete the vehicle log book and fuel consumption accurately, along with a timesheet of visits made, including highlighting which area was visited and detail why any visit could not be completed (e.g. false/ incorrect address; no one at home, etc.)
4. Record each home visit completed on the software provided and ensure backups are made as a appropriate.
5. If applicable, support RSN in analysing the data collected
6. Report progress to the RSN Co-ordinator at the end of each week and provide statistics, i.e. visits planned versus visits completed, challenges encountered, and reassess the visit schedule as needed.
7. On completion of the work, submit a brief report of findings and recommendations to be presented to RSN Managementand Executive Committee members.
8. Work closely with the RSN Coordinator on any immediate concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

• Excellent Written & spoken English, and spoken Shona
• Computer literacy – minimum Excel and Word. Knowledge of Access database or other statistical software will be an advantage as will ability to use Access, or other systems to analyse data collected will be a definite advantage
• Excellent communication skills and ability to empathise with those in difficult situations
• Good analytical and observation skills.
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s licence with at least 3 years driving experience
• Previous experience of community work (2 years) and carrying out home assessments
• Traceable references
• A relevant degree or diploma.
• Proven ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of the geography of Harare and Chitungwiza suburbs and high density areas is an added advantage.
