PROJECT COORDINATOR WV ESWATINI PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To effectively manage activities within the economic strengthening and social safety nets project, ensuring that intended results are achieved. This includes liaison with different stakeholders with WVS, the Government, the local EU office and communities. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mobilize communities and organize communities accordingly to implement project in expected time frame
  • Facilitate procurement and ensure timely delivery of construction material, delivered in the appropriate locations
  • Keep proper record books for the distribution of material and ensure proper utilization of such
  • Build capacity of Local agents to support communities on the construction, management and supervision of water harvesters
  • Facilitate linkages between groups and service providers (Government, private sector and community based organisations)
  • Support the establishment of backyard garden and ensure maximum utilisation
  • Manage project staff to effectively carry out their tasks as outlined in the project document
  • Engage and foster dialogue with support office and other like-minded partners through proper success stories and lessons learnt
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi annual and annual project reports
Other Competencies/Attributes: Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities. Experience in working with community based organizations Strong experience in networking Has a good facilitation skill Attend and participate and/or lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services. Perform other duties as required Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training: Minimum Qualifications 1. First degree in Agriculture / Agriculture Economics and other related degree 2. Previous work experience in working with EU funded grants 3. Good community mobilization skills 4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate negotiations with various stakeholders 5. Knowledge of Climate Smart Practices 6. Ability to mobilize and facilitate increase in savings’ groups activities 7. Knowledge of community based disaster risk reduction and preparation of disaster preparedness plans 8. Good report writing skills 9. Good presentation skills
