About

SIVIO Institute’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion focuses on growing entrepreneurship across Zimbabwe. It does so through establishing a networking ecosystem for emerging entrepreneurial ventures, providing entry-level entrepreneurial training through blended learning, whilst broadening the definition, role and practice of entrepreneurship to consider social entrepreneurship. To meet the above objectives SIVIO Institute is currently enrolling for its 2021 training programs starting with the Introduction to Principles of Entrepreneurship Course. The course will be especially useful for individuals trying to identify business opportunities locally and in the regional, frame a business idea, or articulate the value proposition of a new enterprise.

Course Summary

The Introduction to Principles of Entrepreneurship Course is intended for school leavers, tertiary students, career change professionals, unemployed individuals and retirees wishing to explore entrepreneurship as a career. Trainees will be expected to have the capacity (data and hardware) and ability to learn online; Attend all the online lessons; Submit written assignments and engage in-group discussions; Develop a business idea and an initial business portfolio.

Description: Mode of delivery: Online; Duration: 4 weeks; Master class sessions; Reference toolkits available.

Content Covered

The course will cover the following topics: Types of entrepreneurship; Opportunity identification and opportunities available in Zimbabwe; Practicing a blue ocean strategy; Value creation for small enterprises; Co-creation principles; Developing a business idea.

Qualifications

The Introduction to Principles of Entrepreneurship course is open to all Zimbabweans; Trainees must be able to access and use a computer.
