Position summary

The main purpose of this position is to ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness through leading fundraising and business development initiatives such as tracking donor opportunities, facilitating donor engagement, assisting in the development and rolling out of fundraising strategies, leading the new business and proposal decision, designing and developing process for all funding opportunities. The Fundraising and Business Development Advisor shall ensure viability, initiate, build, deepen, and sustainability coordinate and maintain relationships with donors and likeminded organisations, facilitate linkages between Institutional and Philanthropy Funding team of AAI, Funding Affiliates, and the Global Secretariat to deliver on the AAZ funding strategic objectives of resource mobilization and donors.


Qualifications

The Advisor must have: A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, business studies, marketing or other related fields, a relevant specialised Post -graduate qualification will be an added advantage, at least 4 years relevant experience, preferably with an NGO or similar organisation, satisfactorily serves as a Business Development / Fundraising / Resource mobilization Advisor with expertise in Programs development or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like organizations.


Competencies

The Advisor must have: Demonstrable in-depth understanding of programming issues and resource mobilization, including proposal development, donor reporting and managing donor relations and donor contracts, Demonstrable experience of developing proposals and a proven track record of securing substantial donations/grants from a range of high value and institutional funding sources, Demonstrable experience of raising funds from institutional or other high value donors, Experience in networking and managing donor relationships, Understanding of different donor requirements and ways of working, Good conceptual, analytical, communication and proposal-writing skills.
