Reporting to: Software Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, test and implement new software programs.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages.
Test and debug software to ensure functionality and fix errors.
Collaborate with teams (developers, business analysts, QA testers) on projects.
Maintain and update software to improve performance and add features.
Document code and processes for future reference and maintenance.
Deploy software to production environments and monitor its performance.
Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and development methodologies.
Optimize software performance for scalability and reliability.
Ensure software security by implementing best practices and testing.
Adhere to coding standards, design patterns, and industry best practices.
Any other duty as assigned by the ITS Director

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a related field from a recognised University.
At least 2 years traceable post qualification experience as a software developer.
Competence in Python programming, Linux, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Must have experience in NoSQL database such as MongoDB, working knowledge in Revision Control Systems such as GitHub
Must be able to program in the Laravel framework or Django.
Possess a portfolio of at least 5 projects
Relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
