POST A PAYROLL MANAGER

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the entire payroll process using Paywell, ensuring compliance with Zimbabwean labour laws and regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly payroll for all staff, including deductions for taxes, pensions, and other withholdings.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Zimbabwean taxation laws, labour regulations, and compliance requirements.
Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE, NSSA, and other relevant reports to government authorities.
Conduct regular reconciliations of payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure that payroll records are accurately maintained and reconciled with Sage Evolution accounting software.
Supervise and mentor the payroll team fostering a collaborative work environment.
Train staff on payroll procedures and systems to ensure proficiency and compliance.
Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Coordinate internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries.
Implement recommendations from audits to improve payroll processes and controls.
Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing guidance on payroll matters, deductions, and benefits.
Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data management and updates.
Oversee the maintenance and optimisation of the Paywell payroll system, ensuring it meets the university’s requirements.
Prepare payroll financial reports for management, highlighting trends, variances, and potential issues.
Analyse payroll data to assist in budget preparation and forecasting.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification and Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 2 year experience in Payroll Processing and Management
Certificate / Diploma in payroll administration will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies

Knowledge of Belina / Paywell Systems
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
