Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate would be responsible for: Establishing and updating corporate goals and objectives, business philosophy, short and long-term business plans for the company. Ensuring the growth and protection of the company’s market share. Overseeing all the operations of the company, including supervision of staff. Keeping abreast with market trends to ensure competitive products and services are offered by the company in line with the company’s business strategy. Producing period reports for the Management Board at set intervals. Developing operational budgets to support business plans and ensuring careful monitoring of the budgets. Overseeing efficient asset utilisation, including timeous servicing and maintenance of equipment. Setting operational policies and processes. Ensuring adherence to systems and controls by all subordinate staff and departments. Ensuring that a high level of stakeholder engagement is developed and maintained with clients, suppliers, the public and government stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal applicant must possess the following qualification: At least a Master’s degree in Production Engineering, Business Management or related field. A strong leader with good interpersonal skills. A self-motivated, proven performer with a strong management track record. High computer literacy. An individual who works with minimum supervision and can motivate fellow staff. Mature, creative individual with the ability to work under pressure and to balance competing priorities and meeting deadlines. A clean criminal record. At least 10 years’ working experience in a senior managerial position, preferably in a production engineering environment.
