2.2.1 COMMERCIALISATION AND ETHICAL COMPLIANCE OFFICER (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

 Identify new business opportunities in the research and development sector, including emerging technologies, potential partnerships, and new markets.
 Build and maintain relationships with potential innovators, academic institutions, research organizations, and other stakeholders.
 Conduct market research to understand trends, competitive landscapes, and industry needs, and use this information to guide the process of research and innovation.
 Promote the University’s research and innovation capabilities, such as innovative products and
research solutions, to target markets.
 Work closely with research and innovation teams to translate market needs and industry
demands into actionable project proposals and solutions.
 Ensure all research activities in the institution comply to ethical requirements.
 Ensure all innovations are commercialised in accordance to legal, social and ethical requirements.
 Assist in preparation and submission of proposals for research projects, including pricing, scope, and timelines.

Preferred Skills
 Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) laws and regulations, particularly in the context of research and development.
 Ability to identify business opportunities from both a technical and strategic standpoint.
 Proficient in using, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business development tools.
 Strong analytical and research skills to understand market trends and customer needs.
 Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to meet targets and manage multiple projects.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. At least 2 years proven
experience in business development, sales, or a related role within a research and development or
technology organisation. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
