DEPARTMENT OF MINING AND MINERAL PROCESSING ENGINEERING

1.1  Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research work and should be able to teach the following modules:

  • Mining Management.
  • Mine Planning and Design.
  • Design Underground Mining.

Desired Qualifications

  • B.Eng in Mining Engineering/ Equivalent.
  • Master in Mining Engineering/Related Discipline.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (PGDHTE).
  • PhD an added advantage

1.2 Assistant Lecturer (1 Post)

                    Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to teach two of the following modules:

  • Fundamentals of Geology.
  • Mining Geology.
  • Engineering Geology.

Desired Qualifications

  • BSc in Geology.
  • Registered or in the process of registering for a Master’s Degree.

 1.3 Assistant Lecturer (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate student’s research work and should be able to teach the following modules:

  • Surface Mining.
  • Mineral Processing.

Desired Qualifications

  • B.Eng. Mining and Processing Engineering.
  • Registered or in the process of Registering for a Masters.

   1.4   Lab Technician (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research work and should be able to teach the following modules:

DEPARTMENT OF METALLUGY

  2.1 Assistant Lecturer (1 Post)

             Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to teach the following modules:

  • Iyrometalluray.
  • Hydrometalluray.
  • Materials Corrosion.

Desired Qualifications

  • B. Eng. Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Registered or in the process of Registering for a Masters

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL AND PROCESSING ENGINEERING        

3.1  Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor (2 Posts)

            Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to supervise students on chemical and plant design project, initiate projects to fulfil Education 5.0 and teach at least two (2) of the following modules:

  • Plant and Equipment Design.
  • Separation Processes.
  • Reactor Design and Analysis.
  • Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics.

Desired Qualifications

  • BSc Chemical and Processing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (PGDHTE).
  • Msc Chemical and Processing Engineering or equivalent.
  • PhD an added advantage

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED STATISTICS

    4.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Post)

           Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research work and should be able to teach statistics courses in:

  • Demography.
  • Stochastic Analysis.
  • Survival Analysis.
  • Statistical Computing Courses.

              Desired Qualifications

  • B.Sc Statistics/ Operation Research or equivalent.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (PGDHTE).
  • Msc in Statistics/ Operations Research or equivalent.
  • PhD an added advantage.

       DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE INFORMATION   SYSTEMS

5.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent must be able in a position to teach any three (3) of the following modules:

  • Web Technologies and Mobile Application Development.
  • Digital Finance Services.
  • E- Business.
  • Enterprise Architecture.
  • Mobile Computing.

              Desired Qualifications

  • Bsc Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Systems/ Cyber Security.
  • MSc Computer Science/ Computer Engineering. Information Systems/ Cyber Security.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (PGDHTE).

       DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND DEVELOPMENT

6.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to carry out research, supervise students’ dissertation, able to conduct practicals in agriculture and teach the of the following modules:

  • Quantitative Analysis.
  • Game Theory.
  • Application of Linear Models.
  • Environmental Economics.

              Desired Qualifications

  • BSc in Agriculture Economics or Equivalent with a 2.1 pass.
  • MSc  in Agriculture and Applied Economics or equivalent.
  • A tertiary teaching qualification and experience is an added advantage
  • A relevant PhD is a distinct advantage.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

  1. Teaching

The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

  1. University Service and Community Engagement

       The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, commitees and seminars, among others.

  1. Research

       The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

  1. Innovations

                   Innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.

  • Industrialisation

                   Through commercialisation of goods and services.
