Plan International, an independent development and humanitarian organization dedicated to advancing children’s rights and promoting equality for girls, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Youth Economic Empowerment Coordinator. Duties and Responsibilities

Assessment, Program Design, and Planning:
-Provide technical support to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team in conducting capacity gap assessments on vocational skills training.
-Offer technical inputs for reviewing the project’s log frame and indicators, ensuring relevant information on vocational skills training is collected.
-Assist in the development of project implementation plans and budgets within the donor guidelines.
-Conduct market assessments to identify key growth sectors for enhanced youth incomes.

Project Management and Implementation:
-Lead the delivery of vocational, business, and entrepreneurship skills training to learners, addressing identified capacity gaps.
-Support learners in transitioning to employment or self-employment by providing relevant information.
-Facilitate communication channels with program participants through platforms like WhatsApp, email, and others.
-Collaborate with the private sector to create opportunities for employment, market linkages, and alternative financing through microfinance institutions.
-Coordinate with the Ministry of Youth and Ministry of Women Affairs on delivering vocational skills components aligned with ministry priorities.
-Develop a referrals map for young people to access business skills, entrepreneurship, and microfinancial support.
-Engage with Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges to facilitate the enrollment of learners.

Program Learning and Communication:
-Identify learning and training opportunities for staff and partners, serving as a mentor to ensure high-quality outcomes.
-Contribute to the project’s knowledge management by documenting lessons learned from vocational skills training and tracking significant change stories.
-Utilize program monitoring and evaluation outcomes to strengthen program delivery and inform wider practice in relation to Plan International Zimbabwe's work.

Safeguarding, Gender Equality, and Inclusion:
-Ensure adherence to Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion.
-Embed these policies in accordance with principles and requirements, including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines.
-Promote awareness among staff and associates, emphasizing their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct.

Qualifications and Experience

-Degree in Entrepreneurship, Economics, Business Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable.
-Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience at a similar level, preferably in an NGO environment.
-Understanding of strategic planning processes and child-rights programming theories.
-Knowledge of gender equality and inclusion mechanisms.
-Experience in working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
-Familiarity with development issues, trends, challenges, opportunities, and implications for community development.
