job Description

Applications are invited from experienced and suitable candidates within the Authority for appointment to the above position of a Lecturer at the Zimbabwe Institute of Wildlife Conservation. The position reports to the Vice Principal

Duties and Responsibilities

 Lecturing on both the Degree and HEXCO programmes.
 Teaching and examining of short courses.
 Formulation and reviewing of regulations and syllabi.
 Participating in designing modules academic modules.
 Actively participating in College and Authority projects as a member of team.
 Carrying out Parks and Wildlife Management duties as per college work plan and Authority Strategic Plan and as assigned by the Principal.
 Actively participating in all extra-curricular and park maintenance activities at the college
 Carryout research and produce publications or other research outputs
 Supervising students on industrial attachment.
 Lead students in field practicals.
 Carrying out duties of the entire examination cycle.
 Supervise student research projects.
 Maintaining student discipline.
 Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

 MSc in Wildlife Management/Ecology/Conservation Law/Biological Sciences or any other equivalent qualifications.
 Possession of a higher qualification is an added advantage.
 Post graduate Diploma in Education is an added advantage.
 A minimum of two years lecturing experience.
 Knowledge of the Parks and Wildlife Act.
