UI/UX Designer

Duties and Responsibilities

-Scope, manage, and plan User Experience Design activities.
-Utilize knowledge management and collaboration platforms for UX design processes.
-Facilitate user engagement at testing facilities for research and testing.
-Collaborate with Digital product owners, Ecommerce, Digital Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Digital Operations to ensure customer-led product design decisions.
-Participate in knowledge sharing between different tribes and feature teams.
-Leverage measurement frameworks for experience performance and drive design decisions based on data analysis.
-Monitor and shape digital experience design work output through standardized and integrated design methods.
-Ensure data-led decisions through regular user testing, reporting, customer research, and insights.
-Understand market needs and vision, translating them into designs for working software.
-Contribute to sustaining Old Mutual's Digital and Customer-Led ambition through design and reliable research insights.
-Demonstrate an understanding of Agile/Lean methodologies and continuous delivery processes.
-Create, improve, and define creative direction through mood boards, competitor analysis, prototypes, style guides, and user flows.
-Understand basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
-Solid understanding of Visual Design Principles.
-Run Ideation, Co-creation, and Rapid-prototyping sessions.
-Actively contribute to the Old Mutual design system, frameworks, and User-Centered Design (UCD) artifacts.
-Create high-fidelity prototypes of user interface designs.
-Collaborate on high-quality visual and interaction design with front-end development.
-Use systems thinking to address problems at scale.
-Plan and scope design execution to improve product and service experience outcomes at scale.
-Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends and the competitive landscape impacting Old Mutual Digital.
-Identify new project opportunities based on design thinking principles and prior outcomes.
-Help translate ideas into plans and actions.
-Use data-driven decision-making to inform design and its Return on Investment (ROI).
-Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
