Position Overview: As a Tutor (External Contractor), you will serve as a technical leader within the student community, acting as the primary intermediary between Udacity students, the Community Manager, and staff. Tutors provide technical support, offer feedback, and foster a sense of community among students enrolled in the Data Fundamentals Nanodegree. Additionally, Tutors may organize webinars, meet-ups, and other interventions to enhance the learning experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Provide daily technical support for students through an online community forum -Answer questions related to course content and facilitate learning for students facing challenges -Organize community activities, including webinars, technical quizzes, and challenges -Share extracurricular information and resources to enrich the student community -Attend regular online meetings/office hours with Udacity representatives -Be responsive in close groups and discussions with Udacity representatives -Provide 1:1 support for students over the community forum or other channels if needed -Check the private tutor's category on the forum daily for the latest news
Qualifications and Experience
-Fluent in English -Technical Competence: Python (NumPy and Pandas), Inferential statistics and probability, SQL, Data Wrangling, Data Visualization -Udacity Graduate is a plus -Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking -Experience organizing technical talks, events, or forums -Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead a group of students -Student-oriented mindset with a focus on understanding their problems -Innovative approach and proactivity in assisting students -Positive character, trusted by students, creating emotional ties in the group -Existing tech network and experience in technical conversations & discussions -Flexibility in current job to undertake this role as a part-time external contractor
