Reports To​​:Transport Manager

Job Description

10.1​Assists in the development and maintenance of the Institution’s transport safety policies, maintenance rules/regulations;

10.2​Assists in the development of transport standard operating procedures;

10.3​Assists in supervising drivers’ tests and maintaining all records of testing and license;

10.4​Assists in reviewing and monitoring budget proposals for the department;

10.5​Assists in the preparation of operational plans, performance reports, and responses to internal and external audit observations;

10.6​Ensures that the relevant accounting and audit requirements are followed in all activities of the Transport department;

10.7​Ensures that Parliament vehicles are used in accordance with Parliament regulations and rules, and that vehicle usage data are correctly recorded;

10.8​Assists the Transport Manager in convening of the board of enquiry into accidents involving Parliament Officers and the generation of attendant reports;

10.9​Provides transport services for Parliament business, including but not limited to out-going delegations, conferences, seminars, attachments and any other Parliamentary duties; and

10.10​Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Transport Manager.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

A Higher Diploma in Transport Management/ Logistics Management from a reputable institution a must.
At least 5 “O” Levels including English Language and Accounts / Maths
3 years’ experience in transport/logistics management.
Knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping is an added advantage.
Good administrative skills;
A valid driver’s license;
Ability to work under pressure;
Effective communication skills.
Some mechanical knowledge will be a distinct advantage
