Lamcent Capital, a distinguished private equity firm operating in Zimbabwe, announces a vacancy for the position of Transport Manager at one of its subsidiaries. The subsidiary, actively engaged in both local and cross-border logistics, manages a fleet comprising 30t and 34t flatbeds and sideboards.
1. Operations Management:
-Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
-Optimize routes and schedules for maximum efficiency and cost reduction.
-Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and staff for seamless operations and communication.
-Implement and uphold standard operating procedures for safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
2. Fleet Management:
-Manage the fleet, ensuring proper maintenance, regulatory compliance, and timely repairs.
-Coordinate with the maintenance team to conduct regular inspections and ensure vehicle functionality.
-Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, and driver productivity for optimal fleet performance.
-Develop strategies to minimize vehicle downtime and reduce maintenance and operational costs.
3. Financial Management:
-Develop and manage the annual budget, incorporating revenue projections, cost estimations, and financial analysis.
-Monitor expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
-Review financial reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
-Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and customers to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
4. Team Leadership:
-Recruit, train, and supervise a high-performing team of logistics professionals.
-Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to individuals and the team.
-Foster a positive work culture, encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
-Resolve conflicts, address employee concerns, and promote professional development.
5. Customer Relationship Management:
-Build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional service.
