job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires the incumbent to be trained to operate a sugar milling tandem of up-to 7 mills as per standard operating Procedure. To perform any other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing pre-start-up plant checks on milling and Cane yard equipment.
• Operating a milling tandem of 6 mills using a SCADA system.
• Monitoring and controlling chute levels during milling.
• Generating an 8hr and 24hr Production Report by the end of each shift.
• To do handover and take-over at the end of each shift
• To effectively communicate with superiors and colleagues using portable VHF radios.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5 O’Levels including Maths, Science and English
• Knowledge of Computer programs such as SCADA
• Appreciation of Equipment Interlock system
• At least 2 years minimum work experience with sugar Mills in a heavy manufacturing industry.
• Ability to do shift work.
