Position Overview
-Provide first-line technical support to academic and administrative staff, as well as students.
-Diagnose and resolve software-related issues, including installation, configuration, and usage problems.
-Escalate complex issues to relevant IT teams when necessary.
-Install, configure, and update software applications on university computers
-Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure software reliability and security.
-Conduct training sessions or create user guides to help staff and students effectively use university software.
-Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, resolutions, and system changes.
-Support the planning and delivery of training sessions on data protection policies and best practices.
-Provide technical support for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of multimedia equipment such as projectors, smart boards, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
-Provide support to staff and students on the use of E-learning Management System and Student Information Systems i.e. Moodle, Google Classroom and Edurole.
-Prepare and maintain Radio and TV Broadcasting and Livestreaming equipment for practical work.
-Supervise and trains Technical Assistants.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Lower Second Class [2.2] or better) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electronic Engineering, with at least three (3) years’ post-qualification experience. The candidate should also possess strong communication and leadership skills.

Skills & Competencies
Experience in a broadcasting environment at producer level or above and/or practical competence in journalism-related software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, DaVinci Resolve, and livestreaming software will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Chairperson of the Department.
