job Description

Khulisa is currently seeking a Team Leader for the evaluation of the anticipated USAID-funded Evaluation of Community Gardens’ Contribution to Household Income and Nutrition (GARDENS) activity.

The evaluation is based in Zimbabwe. US and international experts are welcome to apply.

The purpose of this evaluation is to assess the contribution of community gardens to household nutrition and income. Community gardens and water supply infrastructure are the most common type of assets created by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)'s Early Recovery, Risk Reduction and Resilience (ER4) awards in Zimbabwe. Most community gardens are established to promote access to nutritious foods and increase household income. The gardens have had mixed success with some flourishing after Activity end while some are abandoned after Activity ends.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is a 4-6-month consultancy opportunity and contingent upon a project award to Khulisa.

The responsibilities for the position include:

· Responsible for the evaluation design, analyzing evaluation data, presentation of findings and recommendations, and writing the final report.
· The Team Lead will oversee the coordination of activities, arrange periodic meetings, and consolidate individual input from team members.

Requirements

Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as nutrition, food security, agriculture, or international development.
A minimum of 10 years of leading and/or participating in evaluations/assessments.

Experience evaluating BHA or USAID-funded projects is highly desirable.
Experience in leading Evaluation Teams with strong leadership and coordination skills.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Proficiency in English

Khulisa will only contact shortlisted candidates that meet the above requirements.
