This role is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server & Oracle RDBMS, to ensure the security, availability and consistent performance of supported applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Installation & Configuration of SQL Server & oracle databases including technical documentation. -Management of SQL Server & oracle environments from development to production environments. -Monitor SQL Server health, performance, security and availability. -Proactive monitoring of database performance & Problem resolution. -Develop, automate and monitor regular processes -Assist developers with query tuning. -Perform regular maintenance and data warehousing/archiving -SQL Server & Oracle Patch & Upgrade Management. -Provide 24/7 support -Design, Test, Implement & Document DR Procedures -Adherence to corporate policies & standards
Qualifications and Experience
Experience: -At least 2 years minimum experience as an SQL Server and/or oracle DBA
Competency Requirements: -Experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery -Experience with SQL Server & Oracle database backup, recovery & integrity -Database Performance Tuning and Optimization -Windows & Solaris Server Experience -High proficiency in SQL procedural programming & unix scripting -Familiar with database monitoring tools & utilities -Problem-solving skills -Reports Extraction
