Duties and Responsibilities
Operating Systems: Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) in different environments (servers, desktops, virtual machines). Networking: Practical experience with network protocols, hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), network security, and troubleshooting network issues. Hardware: Experience working with server hardware, storage devices, and other infrastructure components, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Software: Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various software applications, including server software, productivity suites, and specialized industry software. Scripting and Automation: Developing and using scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and manage systems at scale. Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including deploying and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services. Cybersecurity: Implementing security measures, monitoring systems for threats, responding to security incidents, and staying up-to-date on security best practices. Virtualization: Working with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) to create and manage virtual machines and infrastructure. Databases: Basic knowledge of database administration, including installation, maintenance, and backup/restore operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often the minimum requirement.
