Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ) is Looking For Supervision And Surveillance Officers X 2

Duties And Responsibilities

Development and Implementation of effective market surveillance processes for key market
infrastructures to ensure clear trading, clearing and settlement of publicly traded securities

➢ Timely identification and reporting of all suspicious trades/transactions and any other breaches

➢ Detecting and investigating potential market abuse and avoid market disruptions arising from
anomalous/ abusive trading activities that violate securities laws.

➢ Recommend appropriate enforcement action after investigating infractions.

➢ Causative analysis of trading patterns vis-v corporate information release inclusive of financial
publications, dividends announcements etc.

➢ Drafting of regulatory frameworks for oversight and surveillance of new products in line with best
practice.

➢ Undertaking stress tests and preparing quarterly compliance and risk assessment reports to detect
market risks and recommend appropriate interventions.

➢ Conducting inspections for Securities Market Intermediaries

Qualifications And Experience

➢ Relevant University Degree (preferably in Law, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science,
Applied Mathematics) or Equivalent;
➢ At least 1-year proven experience in regulation of financial services, capital markets, auditing,
Financial and risk modelling using computer-based packages; and strong quantitative skills or law is
an added advantage;
➢ A good grasp of capital market laws and / or strong quantitative skills
➢ Strong communication and report-writing skills.
