SUB-LIBRARIAN (TECHNICAL SERVICES) (1)

Qualifications and Experience

-A Master’s Degree in Information Technology/Library and Information Sciences/ Knowledge Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology/Library and Information Sciences/ Knowledge Management or a related field.
-At least three (3) years post-qualification experience at Assistant Librarian level working with Integrated Library Management Systems (ILMS) and digital repositories in an academic or research library environment preferably in the technical services division.
-Demonstrable knowledge and experience in cataloguing and classification standards, MARC21, metadata standards, authority control, and quality assurance of bibliographic records.
-Experience in supervising technical services staff and implementing technical services policies, procedures, standards, and workflows.

Skills
-The applicant must possess analytical, management and supervisory skills.
-In-depth appreciation of information and digital literacy is a prerequisite.
-Knowledge of Resource Description and Access (RDA) and Library of Congress classification systems.
-Experience in using and managing discovery platforms.
