The U.S. Embassy is currently accepting applications for the position of Strategic Content Coordination Assistant, also known as the Community Manager. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Strategic Content Coordination Specialist (SCCS) or a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) designee. The role involves supervising a Digital Production Associate (DPA) and encompasses various responsibilities related to managing digital properties and engaging with online communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Build and maintain Mission flagship digital properties, including social media and website content.
-Develop a comprehensive editorial calendar for promoting Mission priorities within online communities.
-Research and analyze evolving markets for Mission digital properties.
-Customize content and online engagement to effectively promote Mission objectives.
-Organize and host online conversations; design and develop innovative engagement opportunities and tools.
-Provide guidance to Public Diplomacy (PD) Public Engagement staff and other Mission personnel on standards, regulations, and policies for the use of digital properties.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience:
-Three (3) years of experience in managing digital properties, including online interaction with the public and content creation in multimedia and traditional formats.

Education:
-An associate’s degree or two (2) years of full-time university studies in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a local equivalent.

Language:
-English - Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.

Knowledge:
-Comprehensive knowledge of the attitudes and communication preferences of target audience groups.
-Understanding of regional, demographic, ethnic, socio-economic, cultural, and linguistic factors influencing Zimbabwean opinions.
-Strong online communications and analysis skills to identify and exploit engagement opportunities.
-Knowledge of trends in regional and international communications patterns affecting Zimbabwe’s communications landscape.

Skills and Abilities:
-Analytic Skills: Identify target audiences, understand sensitivities, and determine strategic content, format, and delivery means to support U.S. policy objectives.
-Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Foster Mission-wide collaboration on the use of digital tools, maintain excellent customer relations, and engage diverse audience groups through online platforms.
-Management Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple engagement platforms, incorporate content from all Mission offices, and handle project budgets, schedules, and daily operations.
-Technical Skills: Proficient in managing Mission flagship digital properties, social media, mobile platforms, and digital tools such as games and contests. Familiarity with audience analysis and analytic tools.
