The Solution Architect: Manager is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of complex IT solutions that align with the organization’s strategic objectives and technical requirements. This role involves creating detailed architectural plans and models, and ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and integrated seamlessly with existing systems. The Solution Architect: Manager collaborates with direct reports, feature teams, and stakeholders to understand business needs, evaluate technological options, and provide expert guidance to ensure that solutions meet quality standards and deliver business value.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Architecture
Design, implement, and evolve robust and effectively aligned architecture solutions that operate in the business ecosystem.

Data Management
Manage key aspects of the data management system. This includes being responsible for developing or operating key elements of the system.

Database Specifications
Approve database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.

Databases Installation
Install and test the most complex databases and associated products to ensure they are suitable for use and meet customer requirements.

Information Security
Lead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities, and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.

Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be"
Document complex "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.

Horizon Scanning
Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.

Performance Improvement through Business Intelligence
Create complex algorithms that identify patterns in structured data through supervised and unsupervised data. Manage data preparation in collaboration with different stakeholders and internal clients in the business.

Personal Capability Building
Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Qualifications and Experience

-Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science or related qualification
-8 - 12 years’ experience
-Understanding of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman Framework, and how to apply them in designing and managing IT architectures.
-In-depth knowledge of the technology stack: cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL, NoSQL), and software development tools.
-Knowledge of integration patterns, middleware technologies, and APIs to facilitate seamless communication between different systems and applications.
-Understanding of security principles and best practices, including data protection, encryption, and identity management, to ensure that architectural solutions are secure and compliant with industry regulations.
-Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices, and how they impact the design and delivery of solutions.
-Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and services and how to design solutions leveraging cloud resources.
-Understanding of data management practices, including data modelling, database design, data warehousing, and big data technologies, and their implications for solution architecture.
-Knowledge of business process modelling and analysis to align architectural solutions with business requirements and workflows.
-Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and practices to ensure that solutions align with the overall architecture strategy and support long-term business goals.
-Awareness of emerging technologies and trends and their potential applications and implications for architecture.
-Understanding of performance optimization techniques and scalability principles to design solutions that can handle increasing workloads and user demands effectively.
