The University of Zimbabwe is inviting suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following positions that have arisen in the institution.
1. ARCHITECT, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS
The University of Zimbabwe Library seeks a skilled Software Architect/Developer for a 6-month contract to design and implement Research Information Management Systems. Key projects include:
 A database for profiling academics with automated publication tracking and analytics;
 A web platform showcasing expert profiles;
 A database of innovations from the University.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Analyze requirements and develop software solutions;
 Plan and test system infrastructure;
 Integrate various software systems;
 Develop databases for academic profiling, expertise, and innovations;

Qualifications and Experience

 Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, AI, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred);
 At least 2 years of experience in Java, PHP, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful services, and MySQL;
 Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, MySQL and SQL;
 Experience with MySQL and SQL Server;
 Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, React);
 Understanding of Linux/Unix systems and network protocols.
