Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Conducting lectures and Seminars using student-centred methods;
Planning and reviewing course content;
Setting and marking examinations;
Preparing suitable participatory teaching materials;
Assisting in the recruitment of students;
Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning programme;
Supervising students on attachment;
Supervising student’s research projects;
Monitoring and evaluating individual student performance;
Research in the area of specialisation for the benefit of both students, University and the wider community;
Conduct innovation and industrialisation that leads to tangible products and services;
Publish papers in refereed journals;
Participate in University service and community engagement; and
Perform any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Departmental Chairperson from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

Master of Science in Social Work;
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Work;
Possession of a PhD in Social Work is an added advantage;
Two (2) years’ experience in a lectureship role;
Registration with the Council of Social Workers;
Proven research abilities; and
Proven community engagement activities.
