job Description

Childline Zimbabwe, a Private Voluntary Organization registered under the laws of Zimbabwe, specializes in child protection, advocating, guarding, and protecting children's rights through safe, confidential, and child-friendly reporting mechanisms, including a free 24-hour counseling service. We are seeking to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill the roles of Social Work Graduate Interns.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Provide direct counseling and therapeutic support to children who have been abused and their families.
-Deliver quality child protection services, ensuring the maintenance of minimum standards under the supervision of the Project Officer.
-Collaborate with other stakeholders in the field of children's services, making, receiving, and following up on referrals, and networking as directed by the Project Officer.
-Maintain accurate records of all correspondence and activities of the Drop-in Centre, including individual case records, in accordance with case management policies and procedures.
-Manage the Drop-in office, establish filing systems, and ensure efficient and effective performance of administrative functions.
-Keep stock of drop-in supplies, including stationery, consumables, materials, etc., and request new stocks through the Project Officer.
-Assist the Project Officer in compiling internal Childline monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on all Drop-in Centre activities.
-Ensure the Drop-in Centre maintains accurate statistical data, contributing to the monthly collation of statistics.
-Raise awareness in the community on issues of child protection and gender-based violence through presentations and workshops.
-Undertake any other duties required to assist the organization in achieving its vision.

Qualifications and Experience

-Holder of a Degree in Social Work or a relevant field.
-Significant experience in counseling and working with children and families.
-Demonstrate knowledge of sexual reproductive health, child development, child rights, and child abuse.
-Strong team working skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
