Sunningdale Medical Centre in Harare seeks a Sister In Charge.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Promotes and maintains professionalism and ethics. •Articulates the nursing process and Nursing Care plan. •Maintains accurate records. •Teaches and counsels staff and clients. •Promotes effective communication between all health care givers, patients and relatives. •Provides quality nursing care to patients. •Administers nursing activities in the ward. •Mentors junior staff and students. •Prepares schedules of duties weekly to ensure that ward coverage and correct hours of work are adhered to. •Checks on safety and custody of drugs. •Motivates staff by involving them in patient care, management activities and recognizes their efforts and potential. •Excellent leadership qualities
Qualifications and Experience
1.Degree/Diploma in General Nursing 2.Preferably a post basic Degree/Diploma in Midwifery 3.An administrative Post Basic qualification will be an added advantage. 4.At least 1 year experience in a similar role. 5.Applicants should be registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and in possession of a valid practicing certificate.
