Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest platinum group metals producer in Zimbabwe. It owns and operates the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), Ngezi Concentrator and the Ngezi Underground Mines

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be part of the dynamic team based at Mupani Mine, reporting to the Mine Manager.

DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION : Mupani Mine
JOB TITLE : SHEQ Superintendent
JOB GRADING : D1

Duties and Responsibilities

-Implementing Zimplats integrated Business Management System (BMS)
-Enforcing SHEQ legislation, code of practices, standards and procedures
-Assisting the Mine in establishing and implementing SHEQ interventions and programs
-Reviewing and monitoring SHEQ risks and controls
-Coordinating the implementation of SHEQ initiatives
-Tracking, analyzing and evaluating SHEQ leading and lagging indicators and establishment of relevant interventions
-Promote a positive safety culture
-Conducting BMS audits and inspections and tracking compliance to BMS requirements
-Assisting operations in incidents/NCs investigations
-Conducting training and awareness on SHEQ requirements

Qualifications and Experience

-Professional qualification in a relevant discipline (Safety, Environment, Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy)
Occupational safety, health & environment management (OSHEMAC) qualification or equivalent
-Experience in operational SHEQ management (BMS) with at least six years working experience as a SHEQ Officer in mining operations
-Experience in SHEQ management systems (ISO45001, ISO14001 & ISO 9001)
-A good understanding of the mining industry SHEQ legislation and processes
