3.1.2 Senior Technician (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

 Operation, care, and maintenance of laboratory instruments such as UV/Vis Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, High-performance Liquid Chromatography, and other related laboratory instruments.
 Conducting laboratory and field-based practicals for undergraduate and postgraguate students.
 Training and supervision of junior staff and postgraduate students and Assist in the development and designing of laboratory manuals.
 Mainitaining safety and hygiene in the laboraties.
 Be innovative and actice in food product development in line with Education 5.0
 Asisting with teaching and research operations for both students and the academic staff in the department.

Qualifications and Experience

 Applicants should be holders of an MSc/Mphil Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, MSc/Mphil Food Science and Technology or equivalent qualification.
 At least 5 years experience in the food industry/government or tertiary institution.
 One must have at least 5 O level including English and Mathematics.
 A clean Class 4 Driver’s license is an added advantage.
