As Product Owner, you’re expected to set long-term plans, work cross-functionally with teams to set goals and ensure these goals reach the finish line by keeping everyone focused. You will be key to defining the vision for the team's product - a hyper-personalised recommendation engine that identifies the customers’ Next Best Action in their journey toward financial wellness and enables the exchange of messages through a personalised and context appropriate conversations (Digital, Physical or a combination thereof). To build this, you need to understand the strategies involved in driving behaviour change and be able to invoke this through product design and development.

You are responsible for product success and will create the product road map and manage the product backlog and prioritise actions based on changing requirements. Your role will oversee all stages of product creation including design, development, model building and running the solution. You will be accountable for the performance of the product and will have to cross sell, upsell, ensure persistency, and improve customer experience.

This team is a dynamic unit within the newly formed OMiX business, within Old Mutual Limited. The team applies customer-focused design thinking, agile and lean development methodologies, and continuous delivery practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Define the Product Strategy, Visions and objectives, product roadmap.
-Understand the business goals and vision and translate this into a product strategy that meets and exceeds these goals.
-Partner with product and business stakeholders to ensure delivery that meets the customer needs and enables the strategic intent.
-Works with the teams to break Features into stories, including agreeing acceptance criteria.
-Active involvement in certain team and program meetings: Feature writing (if required), PI planning, all team meetings such as Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, Sprint Planning and Backlog Refinement.
-Product Owner syncs and Program syncs on the program level (if required).
-Ensure alignment between work delivered and ultimate expectations as defined in the feature statements.
-Inputting into the vision and strategy.
-Write and prioritise features with acceptance criteria to help guide the team and align stakeholders.
-Long term as well as short term product roadmap.
-Understand and be actively involved in removing impediments to team performance that are raised by either the Scrum Master or team.
-Communicating risks effectively to stakeholders.
-Communicate and align with other Product Owners when inter-team dependencies and trade-offs are required to be solved.
-Make day to day decisions that will guide the team’s delivery.
-Maintaining and Prioritize team Product Backlog.
-Understand and use gamification to reward and promote interaction aimed at driving positive behaviours.
-Continuously evaluate the product based on user and stakeholder engagement, interaction and feedback.
-Management reporting of product performance at governance forums

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of 6 years as a Product Owner in an agile environment.
-Relevant IT or Business degree.
-Strong data visualisation expertise, customer engagement.
-Exposure to design and UX
-Working experience in the banking and financial services industry
-Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile (SAFe) etc.
-Product Owner and Leading SAFe certification.
-Knowledge and experience in using GenAI to develop NBA Models whilst considering digital design and user experience.
-Knowledge and experience in using tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira, Miro, Confluence and TFS
-Knowledge and experience with typically used Agile techniques such as User Story mapping, ATDD, TDD, etc.
-Stakeholder Management, Negotiation & Communication Skills.
-Clarity on delivering clear, prioritised stories with acceptance criteria.
