FHI 360 is seeking a dynamic Senior Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (SMNCH) Advisor to spearhead the design and execution of Objective 1: enhancing technical capacity at national, provincial, and district levels for scaling up impactful MNCH interventions. The SMNCH Advisor will be based in Harare, overseeing activities across all five provinces, and will report directly to the Technical Director. Frequent travel to focus provinces, districts, and health facilities will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working closely with program teams under the Technical Director's leadership, the SMNCH Advisor will:
-Contribute to the project's technical direction, aligning with evidence-based MNCH programming for facility and community-level interventions.
-Provide strategic leadership on MNCH policy and programming at national levels, fostering collaboration and harmony with other MNCH projects and coordinating mechanisms.
-Oversee the selection of appropriate MNCH technical assistance to address provincial, district, facility, and community needs.
-Lead the development and refinement of MNCH capacity-strengthening project inputs to support MOHCC interventions.
-Contribute to work plans, program budgets, and various reports, ensuring alignment with Government of Zimbabwe RMNCH policies and strategies.
-Represent the project at stakeholder meetings on national, provincial, and district levels.
-Build the MNCH technical capacity of project, provincial, district, and facility teams through various approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

-Master’s Degree in Paediatrics or Medical Doctor with a Master’s in Public Health.
-Minimum five (5) years of work experience in the Zimbabwe health system.
-Deep knowledge of the landscape for MNCH programming in Zimbabwe, including relevant Government of Zimbabwe and USAID priorities.
-Excellent knowledge of Zimbabwe MOHCC national, provincial, district, and community-level structures.
-Experience with training, mentorship, and capacity-building of health professionals.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in English.
-Proficient in MS Office and relevant computer software.
-Experience working with USG-funded health programs is advantageous.
-Must be a citizen or current legal resident of Zimbabwe.
