The Senior Credit Officer at Old Mutual plays a pivotal role in evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers, ensuring that clients are suitable candidates for credit, loans, or financing options. Duties and Responsibilities

-Follow standardized processes and offer administrative support in line with normal business functioning.
-Achieve daily production standards and adhere to service and quality benchmarks.
-Provide indirect services to customers.
-Respond promptly to immediate requirements within established procedures.
-Assess the creditworthiness of potential borrowers.
-Gather and analyze financial data of loan applicants to evaluate risk.
-Collaborate with other financial experts to make decisions on loan approvals or declines.
-Provide recommendations on increasing, adjusting, extending, or closing lines of credit.
-Examine financial transactions and credit history of loan applications.
-Conduct ratio, trend, and cash flow analyses, and create projections.
-Determine the level of risk involved and offer recommendations for loan facilities.
-Analyze data meticulously and generate clear, objective reports.
-Routinely monitor loans for compliance with credit policies.
-Adhere strictly to credit policy and guidelines.
-Monitor the asset quality of the corporate portfolio on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Credit Management, with a focus on MFI or Banking.
-Knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and industry/market credit research.
-Multi-skilled across various products and processes.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases.
-Degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or a related business field.
-Credit or Risk Management certification or equivalent.
