Duties and Responsibilities

-Formulate the credit underwriting strategy.
-Champion the review of credit policies and procedures.
-Manage credit processes for Board Credit.
-Communicate decisions of the Board Credit Committee to Lending Units.
-Oversee the preparation of the information pack for recommended credit proposals to EXCO and Board Committees for consideration.
-Review resolutions and offer letters to clients.
-Conduct visits to borrowing clients for independent analysis and appreciation of risk issues.
-Recommend profitable deal structures that minimize credit risk.
-Align pricing to risk-adjusted return on capital.
-Lead in driving the automation of credit rating tools.
-Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Lending Units.

Qualifications and Experience

-Possess a degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, or a similar field from a recognized and reputable tertiary institution.
-Postgraduate qualification such as MBA, MBL, MSc in Finance, or similar is an added advantage.
-Have a minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar role in a banking institution and/or financial services environment.
-Solid financial planning and analysis skills.
-Demonstrate a strong understanding and knowledge of the Banking Act, RBZ regulations, and other related governing legislation.
-Possess good report writing and presentation skills.
-Strong leadership and management skills.
-Above-average interpersonal skills.
