SENIOR COOK (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Meal planning, costing and coordinating Canteen activities to meet meal schedules
• Plan, prepare, and supervise the production of high-quality well balanced and nutritious menus in line with organisational standards.
• Monitor adherence to procedures for ordering, receiving, storing and issuing of food items.
• Monitor food supplies and maintenance of inventory for food items, utensils and equipment.
• Develop and innovate menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
• Monitor adherence to food hygiene, health and safety guidelines.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Monitor food costs, portion control, and minimize wastage.
• Support catering for special events, conferences, and institutional functions.
• Scheduling shifts and supervision of junior staff
• Any other duties as assigned by the head of department

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must at least have an earned a certificate in Professional cookery or equivalent, Diploma in Catering or Equivalent is an added advantage, at least 5 ordinary Level passes including English, applicants must be a class one Chef with at least 3 years relevant experience, well groomed, hygiene conscious.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
