Core purpose of the role
The Sales Business Development Lead is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers and services and creating a sales pipeline.
Key deliverables and outputs
Strategy Implementation
Implement and provide input into sales and operational strategies annually
Create innovative solutions to ensure continuous improvement and carry out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
Conduct competitor analysis on an ad hoc basis.
Budgets, Forecasts and Revenue Management
Prepare annual budget and forecasting and ensure that expenses are in line
Assist Credit Control Department in collection of overdue payments
Compile sales forecasts based on new and existing information to provide insight into current and future
Renegotiate pricing prior to rate expiry
Maintain and grow market share in line with targets.
Customer and Supplier Management
Compile a contribution analysis (if required) and determine impact on customer
Seek out contact people, generate leads and cold call prospective customers
Build and maintain relationships and act as liaison to all customers
Monitor the satisfaction levels of clients to ensure retention and growth
Send all supporting documents for opening an account to Customer Database department timeously
Track and achieve CSI targets
Conduct business reviews with all major customers timeously
Document all processes and adhered to all ISO and company standards
Manage fleet usage (over term/over km)
Reporting
Prepare and submit monthly reports timeously
Prepare and submit monthly sales pipeline reports timeously.
Pulse Administration
Provide Pulse/Pilot customer support and administration
Resolve Pulse customer queries and escalate as and when necessary
Retain and build relationships with the customer
Create quotations for all products.
Internal and External Stakeholders
The role requires close engagement and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Internal Stakeholders
Senior Managers, Sales team, Admin team, Risk and Finance team, Operations team, Procurement team, Legal team, Other Internal Departments, Regional Countries.
External Stakeholders
Suppliers, Dealerships, Government and State-owned Entities, Parastatals, NGO’s, Municipalities, Universities and Colleges.
Academic Qualifications
Essential:
NQF Level 4 Qualification
Valid Driver’s License.
Advantageous:
NQF Level 5 Qualification in Fleet Management.
Work Experience
Essential:
3 Years Experience in Fleet and Sales.
Advantageous:
2 Years Experience within the company.
