Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) is an autonomous parastatal under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. It is an internationally accredited examinations board. ZIMSEC is an examinations board responsible for assessment, evaluation and documentation of the academic readiness, learning progress, and skill acquisition of students at primary and secondary school levels in Zimbabwe. The Council is inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following vacant positions that have arisen.
RISK MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The position of Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks within the Council’s operations in line with best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring the organisation operates within acceptable risk parameters.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS -Risk identification and assessment -Risk mitigation and control -Risk monitoring and reporting -Compliance and regulatory adherence -Training and awareness -Business continuity and crisis management -Stakeholder engagement and consultation -Risk management framework development -Risk reporting to senior management
Qualifications and Experience
-A good first degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field -Professional certifications in Risk Management -Master’s degree in a related field -At least 5 (five) years’ experience at Managerial Level -Thorough understanding of risk management principles and frameworks -Familiarity with compliance standards and relevant regulatory frameworks
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills -Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple risk projects simultaneously -Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written -Ability to work with cross-functional teams -Strong IT literacy with the ability to use risk management software and tools
