RIGGER ROPEMAN Reporting to the Engineering Foreman, the job is based at the Mine and is responsible for the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Duties: • Aligning, levelling and anchoring machinery. • Controlling movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces. • Fabricating, setting up and repairing rigging, supporting structures, hoists and pulling gears. • Giving signals to workers involved in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and equipment. • Inspecting lifting gear daily in line with SHEQ policies and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: • Five (5) O' Levels including English, Mathematics and Science. • National Certificate in Fabrication or RiggingTechniques. • Class 1 Journeyman Certificate Rigger Ropeman. • At least 5 years' post apprenticeship experience working in a Mining, Processing Plant or Heavy Engineering environment. • Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management systems.
