Our client is seeking a talented and experienced individual to fill the role of Retail Operations Manager under the retail division, reporting to the Country Director for Zimbabwe. This role will directly supervise sales managers, and indirectly supervise the sales personnel and store managers.
Policies
To direct the establishment and maintenance of sales strategies
Make SWOT Analysis and prepare business plans for the retail department
Prepare retail guidelines in line with Company policies
Organisation
Conduct regular business follow-up meetings to evaluate the performance of store managers and district Sales Manager
Ensure implementation of promotional campaigns to boost sales
Follow up and secure new locations suitable for expansion to increase market share
Constantly analyze market trends, and general economic trends and notify management on how these trends affect business performance
Submit proposals for retail operating expenses and implement approved budgets
Actively participate in all product development meetings and propose the development of new styles in brands
Ensure sufficient supply to stores as per requirement - propose new distribution strategies when needed.
Undertake timely action on slow movers and ensure zero-aged merchandise
Manage store profiles
Training
Set and demonstrate a high standard of dynamic leadership and excellence in management and instil enthusiasm and loyalty within the retail team.
To identify high potential employees and recommend development training programs which will ensure that the employee attains the highest standard of performance and self-development.
Budgeting:
Achieve set target turnover.
Emphasize cost efficiencies across all operations
Establish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
Marketing:
Ensure uniformity in seasonal and store displays in line with relevant/current marketing plans.
Ensure “zero” variance in all stores.
Industrial Relations:
To collaborate with the HR office in applying company policy and procedures, and to ensure all employment conditions adhere to the Labor Laws of Zimbabwe.
To ensure discipline in your area during working hours and to see employee welfare.
Attend to employee grievances and ensure that settlements are communicated to them.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management or any related field, a similar, master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
At least five (5) years experience in a similar position.
Leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong time management and organisational abilities.
