The Regional Capability Lead for Risk and Investigations will play a pivotal role in strategically leading, promoting, and reinforcing a culture of integrated and effective Risk and Compliance Management. Collaborating across various functions, including People and Culture, Supply Chain, Finance, Safeguarding, and Integrated Programs, the incumbent will be tasked with understanding and evaluating World Vision's unique organizational environment in the Southern Africa Region. This includes a comprehensive grasp of the political, economic, and social landscape, applying technical expertise to develop and implement a robust risk management strategy.
The role involves planning, leading, and conducting special investigations related to employee grievances, harassment, policy violations, and safeguarding. This includes providing regional trend analysis and external market research findings to inform senior leadership teams at both regional and national levels.
Regional Strategic Risk and Stakeholder Engagement:
-Spearhead quarterly regional strategic risk reviews, considering changes in the environment, politics, and economics.
-Compile analytical reports from various systems for a holistic view of incident management and trends.
-Equip National Office regional risk oversight committees to communicate strategic risk management trends to senior leadership teams.
Incident & Investigation Management Capability Strengthening:
-Provide regional quarterly training on incident reporting, Incident Management principles, and usage of relevant systems.
-Analyze incidents and investigations, applying Lessons Learned and After-Action Reviews to prevent repeat incidents.
-Coordinate investigations in response to incidents, allegations, and complaints, ensuring legality, ethics, and compliance.
Promote a Regional Risk Culture and Compliance Strengthening:
-Provide technical guidance to senior leadership teams for developing, reviewing, and implementing risk management strategies.
-Strengthen the capacity of National Office risk management committees in alignment with World Vision's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
-Lead the design of frontline staff learning programs and materials to enhance risk awareness and promote a child-safe organization.
-Minimum seven years of risk management, audit, organizational effectiveness, and quality assurance experience in International Organizations.
-Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Criminal Justice, Finance, or a related field.
-Professional training on investigations and/or crisis management.
-Excellent knowledge of INGO risk management practices.
-Demonstrated experience in strategic risk analysis, management, monitoring, and reporting.
-Leadership experience, stakeholder engagement, and influencing senior leadership teams.
-Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, with digital dexterity.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
-Master's degree in commerce, finance, management, or a similar field.
-Completion of a law enforcement investigation training program, CPA, CIA, CA, or CFE.
-Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Investigation Certification from a law enforcement agency.
-Fluency in French or Portuguese.
-Knowledge of WVI business and management systems is preferable.
