Our client in Zimbabwe is looking for a technical and experienced Reduction Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining Industry.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Standardizing the elution process across all locations.
Providing technical guidance and support to local elution teams.
Continuous monitoring and auditing of elution systems to ensure performance consistency and adherence to best practices.
Managing the carbon regeneration process to minimize losses and improve carbon reactivation performance.
Reporting elution performance metrics to the Group Processing Executive.
Lead the optimization of elution processes across all sites to ensure efficient recovery of gold from loaded carbon.
Evaluate and implement process control strategies to improve elution efficiency and minimize operational downtime.
Ensure that all elution equipment is maintained and operated in line with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
Oversee the carbon reactivation process, ensuring that reactivated carbon is of optimal quality for reuse in the CIL process.
Collaborate with the Carbon Management SBU to ensure seamless flow of carbon between the CIL and Elution units.
Conduct regular audits of elution systems at all operational locations to ensure consistent performance and adherence to best practices.
Analyse performance data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvements.
Provide detailed performance reports to the Group Processing Executive, highlighting key metrics and areas requiring attention.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations pertaining to the elution and carbon reactivation processes.
Lead safety initiatives related to chemical handling, carbon regeneration, and thermal processes used in elution.
Provide technical support and leadership to elution teams at each processing location.
Work closely with Metallurgy (CIL), TSF, and Carbon Management SBUs to ensure integrated and efficient operation of the value chain.
Mentor and guide local elution teams to implement best practices and enhance their operational capabilities.
Qualifications:
Preferably a degree in either extractive metallurgy or chemical engineering at a recognized tertiary education location
Currently hold a management position in an operating mineral processing facility
Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience in operating mineral production facility
Experience with grinding and flotation circuit operation
Experience with cyanide leaching circuits and related hazardous chemical handling
Experience with gold recovery circuits via elution
Understanding of the applicable safety standards within Zimbabwe
Management of technical and non-technical staff
Experience with preparation of production reports
Softskills:
Driver’s license
Human resources and management experience
