PURCHASING AND STORES CLERK - BU INNOVATIONS

Description
The Purchasing & Stores Clerk ensures the supermarket has the right products at competitive prices to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.Supports purchasing activities and manages the receipt, storage, and issue of supplies to ensure items are available when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and promotional allowances with suppliers.
-Monitor sales metrics, forecast stock requirements, manage purchasing budgets, and avoid overstocking or stock outs.
-Assess product quality and handle vendor discrepancies or returned goods.
-Update inventory databases or enterprise resource planning systems when items enter or leave the storeroom.
-Issue and transfer stock to different departments or store shelves upon approved request.

Qualifications and Experience

-Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
-2 years of retail purchasing and inventory management experience.

Skills
Strong analytical abilities, sharp negotiation skills, proficiency in inventory management software, and good commercial awareness.
