Hivos is in search of qualified candidates for the role of Project Manager to oversee the implementation of a new 3-year project titled "Strengthening Respect for Environmental Rights in Zambia," funded by the European Union. The project aims to address the low awareness of environmental rights among Zambian rights holders and enhance the operational and regulatory environment for environmental justice. The position is based in Lusaka, Zambia.
Project Management:
-Oversee all project management tasks, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
-Document and report project progress.
-Ensure compliance with Hivos policies and European Union guidelines.
Partner Management:
-Facilitate contracting and reporting with partners.
-Provide technical support and undertake monitoring visits.
-Maintain positive relationships and collaboration with partners.
Networking & Media:
-Establish and maintain positive relationships with key external stakeholders, including media.
-Engage in resource mobilization efforts for scaling up/extension.
Learning:
-Utilize monitoring data to draw lessons and continuously improve the program.
-Engage with Hivos global M&E system and processes for linking and learning.
Innovation:
-Drive program innovation through strategic partnerships and cooperation.
-Explore alternative approaches, such as linking climate change and transparency.
-Experience in delivering European Union funded projects, with knowledge of EU compliance processes.
-Master's degree or equivalent in development studies, governance, law (environmental), media, or a relevant field.
-Minimum of five years relevant working experience, preferably in advocacy and influencing strategies.
-Understanding of the environmental rights sector in Zambia.
-Strong networking, relationship building, and negotiation skills.
-Excellent verbal, writing, and communication skills in English.
