Job Purpose

Cassava Smartech is looking for a Project Manager to join its Information Systems Technical team. The main purpose of the role is to coordinate and manage cross-function Information Systems projects within budgeted costs.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in a business related discipline or equivalent.
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2,AGILE Projects) is an added advantage
• 4 to 6 years’ experience in the business .
• 2 years’ experience managing at least 1 medium sized project (Budget of US250,000 or above)
• 4 to 6 years’ experience in the business .

Key Result Areas

• Develops Project Management Plans that guides the implementation of the projects

• Identifies and develops project requirements to establish project deliverables, using techniques (e.g. planning sessions, brainstorming, and focus groups) and the project charter • Develops procurement plans in consultation with the logistics, procurement and stores departments

• Develops the project communications plan through extensive consultations, and from the stakeholder needs analysis

• Identifies high level risks, assumptions and constraints using historical data and expert judgment and develop Risk Management Plan

• Directs project kick off through holding a meeting with all key stakeholders to review the overall project plan and gain consensus

• Selects and develops project team performance through building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency, and boost morale

• Performs Quality Assurance processes

• Manages stakeholder expectations through establishing, maintaining, constructive and cooperative working relationships with high level stakeholders • Conducts project procurement processes as defined in the Procurement Plans

• Monitors and provide projects performance reports in accordance with the projects communication plan to support senior Management decision making.

• Performs Integrated Change Control by managing changes to scope, schedule, and cost using verification to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized changes as defined in the change management plan.

•Manages scope, schedule, and costs throughout the project implementation phase through earned value management processes

• Monitors and control risks through implementing pre-developed strategies to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize the impact of negative risks on the project

•Carries out assessment and develop stabilisation plan for projects that are out of schedule, over budget and of unacceptable quality.

• Motivates project teams using appropriate tools and techniques in order to increase commitment to the program and project objectives.
