job Description

Trócaire is seeking a full-time Project Assistant to contribute to the management and implementation of a project supporting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Zimbabwe. The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting project execution, engaging with consortium partners, donors, and stakeholders. The role involves grant management, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and fostering effective communication between Trócaire and implementing partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Implementation:
-Develop consortium annual work plans.
-Organize, plan, and implement Trócaire-led activities within the consortium.
-Provide technical support to consortium partners in line with Trócaire's partnership and localization agenda.

Project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):
-Consolidate monthly reports, project activity, and narrative reports.
-Support documentation of project results and lessons.
-Facilitate learning and exchange activities within the consortium.
-Provide tailored technical support and capacity strengthening on MEL.
-Organize project internal reflection events with Trócaire staff, donors, and implementing partners.

Project Finance Management:
-Participate in annual project budgeting and review partner budgets and work plans.
-Track budgets and implementation of work plans.
-Assist in fund disbursement to implementing partners.

Integrating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI):
-Follow up with partners on GESI work plans.
-Accompany consortium partners on GESI integration.
-Lead the implementation and integration of women empowerment activities.

Feedback and Complaints Handling Mechanisms (FCHM):
-Support partners in implementing FCHMs, including reporting to Trócaire.
-Managing Project Information and Documentation:
-Update project documents on Salesforce and Box.

Qualifications and Experience

-University qualifications in Human Rights, Peacebuilding, Development Studies, International Relations, Law, or a relevant social science degree. Masters will be an added advantage.
-Minimum 2 years of experience in human rights programming, civil society capacity strengthening, and project cycle management.
-Understanding of legal aid, medical support, human rights monitoring, civic engagement, and women empowerment.
-Qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage.
-Proven experience in managing institutional funding.
-Skills in report writing and documentation.
-Positive attitude and conflict management skills.
-Understanding of partnership and consortium management.
-Proficient in Excel, Word, Salesforce, Box, CommCare, and other digital data collection tools.
