Hivos is inviting applications for the position of Programs Intern based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Programs Intern will provide essential support in logistical, operational, and administrative activities to ensure effective and efficient management and delivery of programs for the Southern Africa region. Working closely with program managers, coordinators, and officers, the intern will contribute to the implementation of program activities in alignment with organizational, donor, and program guidelines.
-Assist in organizing donor visits, engagement events, and capacity building activities as requested.
-Provide data entry and administration support for the programs operations unit.
-Maintain accurate files and filing systems for the program.
-Support logistics planning for travel, meetings, and events for the programs teams.
-Assist in organizing program meetings, workshops, events, and exhibitions.
-Perform clerical and administrative support tasks, including photocopying, printing, and filing as required.
-Support the submission of requests for trainings, logistics for trainings and workshops.
-Coordinate activities for other meetings and prepare minutes or summaries of proceedings as requested.
-Assist in arranging conferences, meetings, and special events, participating in quarterly project planning and review sessions.
-Support in tracking program workplans for timely identification and addressing of program implementation challenges.
-BSc/BA degree holders in Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or any related social science qualification.
-At least a year of work-related learning experience.
-Demonstrated experience in event and travel coordination support.
-Proven experience in coordinating procurement, purchase orders, invoicing, payment, and other financial processes.
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Willingness to work in a dynamic work environment, undertaking project and administrative duties as assigned.
-Ability/flexibility to travel to various program implementation locations and willingness to work with irregular hours.
-Prior experience in the social development sector, including non-government organizations or government development agencies, is an asset.
