The University seeks to engage a Procurement Manager in the Procurement Management Unit.
As a Procurement Manager, you will be
-Conducts procurement in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (Chapter 22:23) and any other policies
-Initiates and coordinates annual procurement planning based on the approved operational plan and approved budget
-Coordinates the bidding processes including pre-bid meetings, ensuring that bidding documents comply with set provisions and guidelines
-Develops sound, cost-effective strategies for the procurement of goods and services
-Maintains accurate and complete records for all procurements of services for the University
-Ensures that procurement achieves maximum value of public expenditure with available financial resources
-Conducts cost analysis and setting benchmarks for improvement
-Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management/ Purchasing and Supply Management
-A Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management/Purchasing and Supply Management
-Professional membership such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management (CIPS), Supply Chain Association of Zimbabwe (SCAZ) or equivalent is a must
-A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in public procurement
-Working knowledge of the electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system and Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (Chapter 22:23)
